Above and Below: The Central Building (or the Tulsa High School as shown in the postcard image above this one) was located at 4th & Boston. This photo from March of 1909, shows a 7th grade class, class "A". During this time due to the rapid growth in the numbers of students, the classes were divided into "shifts", the early Class A, and then Class B, for each grade. Our guess is that A.V. Short written on the photo was the class teacher, Alice V. Short who by 1910 became the principal of the new Owen School (now Irving Elementary). Larrick Photo was a prominent photography studio during Tulsa's early oil boom years.
